 Safety

We at Red Swan have very high standards. We want to find the best performers and the best gigs for them. Whether booked as a fire performer, spotter, shill or other; when on the job through Red Swan, safety is top priority. All performances will adhere to the NAFFA Safety Guidelines. Although not required, we strongly advise that these guidelines are used whenever tools are lit up.

Spotters are a key element to each fire show. All spotters are required to have been trained in fire extinguishing and to assist with tied wicks. They should have basic first aid training, and be prepared to assist with crowd control.

It is imperative that each performer be responsible for proper fuel containment, and always spin out properly and in the appropriate space. During shows keep fuel in the fuel area; separated from the performance area and crowd. If there are multiple performances for an event; fuel shall be kept contained by either on site persons, locked safe boxes or removal of fuel from the area.

As many different types of performers there are there are again that many types of tools. Before each performance tools are checked to ensure that all of the connections are secure and that there is not excessive fray.

We all work together to create a safe space for the art of fire performance to breath and expand.
